Commercial printing is a term that refers to high quality printing for businesses using methods such as offset printing, digital printing, or large format printing to produce printed materials at an efficient price.

 

Types of Commercial Printing​

There are some common types of commercial printing listed below. The method that will work best will depend on your project needs, quantity, quality standards and size.

Offset Printing

Offset printing is a type of printing that involves printing plates and wet or UV sensitive ink to create prints. Offset printing produces high quality products with vibrant colors and clearer pictures. It is ideal for larger runs of a single or similar images.

Digital Printing

Digital printing uses high speed color copiers that use 4 colors of toner (cyan, yellow, magenta and black) to create full color images. This type of printing is ideal for smaller runs or printing with variable data or images.

Large Format Printing

Large format printing is produced on machines that are fed by large rolls of printable substrate such as paper, vinyl (banners), or window cling materials. Images can be several feet wide and as long as there is material on the roll. Images are typically applied with inkjet technology that lays down 4 colors of ink to produce a full color image.
